"Thank you so much for everything you did to make our wedding weekend so special! We had a truly amazing experience with you and an unforgettable wedding! Can we do it all again?! The photos are absolutely unreal!"

Luxe Destination Wedding Photography at Soho Roc House, Mykonos

To say everything about Katie & Will's spectacular destination wedding weekend at Soho Roc House in Mykonos was a dream, is like saying Lionel Messi is a half-decent footballer. Understatements don't come much bigger! It wasn't just that Soho Roc House pretty much tops the list of luxury wedding venues in Mykonos (or the world for that matter), or that Mykonos is a beautiful destination, or that Katie & Will are just lovely people. It's that every element of the whole weekend was SO good, and that every single star aligned to give us all the best, most luxurious and genuinely authentic experience, that went far beyond any expectation that we had going into it.
But, their wedding day was just one piece of a much bigger story. Before we all got stuck into a beautiful wedding, Katie & Will welcomed their guests to their blue & white-themed welcome drinks party on the Friday night. So, let's start there...

The Welcome Drinks

Destination Wedding at Soho Roc House, Mykonos
Okay, after a chilled evening drinking signature cocktails and watching the sun set, it was time! Now, a destination wedding is guaranteed fun, and a destination wedding at Soho Roc House is always going to be something special, but this day was something else, and here's why...
Katie & Will are two of the loveliest, most humble and down-to-earth people you could ever wish to meet. You only have to spend a few minutes with their parents and families to understand where that good grounding comes from. But they managed to organise and plan an entire weekend of joy and excitement with the sole and express view of everyone else having the best time! Zero ego, all in the name of service to others. They care deeply about their people, and all they wanted to do was make sure everyone had an unforgettable experience. Mission accomplished!
Now, before we get stuck into some more photos, I have to give some massive shout-out's to some awesome people. Katie was looked after all weekend by my amazing (yes I'm biased) Wife Jess, as we were there together as Ceremony (hit that link to find out more). Jess was accompanied by her amazing team of Hannah, Lisa & Laura, who operate under The Destination Collective, and we all had a blast together. I got to spend the weekend shooting alongside one of my bestie's and his Wife in Abigail and Luke Films, who absolutely killed it and produced an oscar-worthy cinematic masterpiece. And last but not least, Katie spent the day in an absolutely stunning number from the master that is Emma Beaumont Atelier. Needless to say, making cool photos with that dress was a dream.
Okay, more photos...
Mykonos Wedding Photographer
After a very chilled morning getting ready in total comfort and a gorgeous ceremony on the steps of the chapel, we headed for drinks under the shade of the canopy. This is one of my favourite times of any wedding day, because I always prioritise giving my couples time to go and see their guests, rather than whisking them off for tonnes of photos straight away. Listen, we've all been to those weddings, right? The one's where you don't see the couple for hours on end because they've been taken away for photos. Well, I don't do that! I always say the same thing to every couple I work with; priority 1 is them having maximum time with everyone else they've asked to be there. The day isn't about me taking them away from the fun and action, it's about making sure they're right there, in the mix, because that's where the real emotion is, and there's gold in those photos. Take a look...

So, after we'd had some time to chill and shoot the family formals, we headed off for a wander around the amazing grounds of Soho Roc House for those all-important wedding portraits. Soho Roc House has endless options for gorgeous portraits, but we decided to head down to the jetty while the sun was still high, to spend some time by the water, before heading back up top for Katie & Will to be announced in for dinner and then heading back out for some golden hour loveliness before the speeches.
While I'm a documentary wedding photographer, I do love shooting some cool, editorial portraits. Again, this is always a fun but fairly short chunk of time, as I never want to keep my couples away from the action for long. But when you've got folks like these and the vibes are high, everything comes together fast...
Soho House Wedding Greece
Right?! Just absolute gold!
Once we'd had those wanders around chasing the light, we settled in to some amazing speeches and then got stuck into one hell of a party! Fair warning: this next chunk of photos is going to be a big one! Again, the party at a destination wedding is almost guaranteed to be a banger, but Katie & Will raised the bar to a crazy height! From a super-emotional first dance to "Stargazing" by Myles Smith (still can't stop listening to it weeks later) to an incredible night, full of fun, fireworks and, to close it out, Will leading the charge into the pool (after taking off his custom suit from Jack Davison and his Dad's Patek Philippe watch!) Just crazy good fun from start to finish.
Okay, party time. But, keep scrolling, because the fun isn't over yet! There's a Sunday evening catamaran trip waiting for you...
The Boat Party
So, what else is there to do the day after an epic destination wedding party? Yep, chill for the day, then climb aboard 4 catamarans and head out into the Aegean for a swim and a cruise to watch the sunset! Paradise. Honestly there's not much more to say on this one.
Okay, that's more than enough from me. If you're here because you're planning your own destination wedding, maybe even your own Soho Roc House wedding in Mykonos and you're keen to work with me, you can check out my portfolio, read a bit more about my approach to destination weddings and get in touch to check my availability. I'd love to hear more about your plans. And don't forget to check out Ceremony, because you don't just want me, you want Jess too :-)
Thanks for checking in. Enjoy...
